Leuven, Belgium – From July 10 to 12, 2024, the International Mind, Brain, and Education Society (IMBES) held its annual conference, this year jointly organized with the EARLI SIG 22 Neuroscience and Education. This prestigious event brought together leading experts and researchers to showcase cutting-edge research at the intersection of neurosciences, educational sciences, developmental sciences, and cognitive sciences. The primary objective of the conference was to advance the current state of knowledge and foster meaningful dialogue between scientists, practitioners, and policymakers within the realm of mind, brain, and education.
Our colleague, Dr. Alexandra Lux, from the RE-WIRING project, made a significant contribution by presenting a poster. The poster highlighted innovative approaches and findings relevant to Work Package 3 on De-biasing Education. Lux’s presentation underscored the importance of co-creating research with stakeholders and the effective application of research and developed interventions in real-life settings. This focus is essential for bridging the gap between theoretical research and practical implementation, ensuring that educational practices are informed by the latest scientific discoveries.
The IMBES 2024 conference provided an invaluable platform for researchers like Lux to share their work, gain insights from peers, and collaborate on future projects. The event was a resounding success, advancing the field of mind, brain, and education, and fostering a vibrant community of interdisciplinary scholars committed to improving educational outcomes worldwide.
