On 7 May 2025, the RE-WIRING project hosted a dynamic Stakeholders Workshop in Brussels titled “The Gendered Impact of Crises on Decent Work.” Held at Mundo Matongé, the event brought together researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders to explore how ongoing crises are reshaping the concept of decent work, with a specific focus on gendered impacts.
The day featured an interactive World Café format designed to spark meaningful dialogue around key dimensions of decent work as defined by the ILO: pay, working conditions, and labour market structures. Participants rotated through thematic discussions and later gathered in roundtables to identify challenges, share insights, and co-create policy recommendations aimed at future-proofing decent work in times of uncertainty.
Led by an international academic team from the University of Deusto, Utrecht University, and the University of Portsmouth, this workshop marks a vital step in generating inclusive, evidence-based responses to systemic inequalities in the labour market.
